**Sodium benzoate is not a concern unless you have an allergy to it and there over 5% being used in a product. I would also be concerned if sodium benzoate was mixed with ascorbic acid (not citric acid) because it COULD potentially create a benzene ring (at extreme temps). Sodium benzoate can also be an eye irritant

Scent ingredients are safe synthetics and/or natural ingredients but like anything, someone can have an allergy to a scent ingredient (for example, if you're allergic to lavender then you'll like have an allergy to a safe synthetic similar to lavender)
