My Mission
My mission for this page is to help people find clean products in an educational & informative way. It's important to me that people are informed about the products & foods that are affecting their toxin load. I hope that you find products that not only are clean but also work just as good as conventional products! Want to learn more? Read my ABOUT ME.
Cushioned EVA Foam Play Mat for Floor, Soft Interlocking Baby Crawling Mats for Hard Floors
On their website, they have bigger tile options as well! The amazon link only offers 4x6 and 4x8 mats
- Dimensions: 24.8" x 24.8” per tile
- Thickness: 0.47”
Materials:
EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate) foam, printed film layer (they do not disclose their exact materials online for the printed film layer but they do test this material as well as the foam)
All products undergo rigorous testing to meet safety standards, including compliance with ASTM F963 (U.S. toy safety standard), EN 71 (EU Toy Safety), CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) regulations, and REACH: European regulation on chemical content in products They are regularly tested for harmful chemicals such as phthalates, lead, formaldehyde, and latex, ensuring a safe environment for children
Things to consider with play mats:
➡️ Some EVA foams can release formamide, a chemical used to soften the foam, which has raised safety concerns. Reputable brands test to ensure their mats are formamide-free or well below regulatory limits (House of Noa DOES test for this)
➡️ EVA is safer than PVC, which often contains harmful plasticizers (phthalates) unless labeled as phthalate-free. (you've probably seen me recommend EVA shower curtains as a lower tox option)
➡️ Polyurethane (PU) foam, another common material, can off-gas VOCs unless certified (e.g., CertiPUR-US). EVA generally emits fewer VOCs.
Benefits:
-
UL GREENGUARD Gold: Indicates low chemical emissions, ensuring better indoor air quality.
-
CertiPUR-US: Certifies that foam components are made without harmful chemicals and have low VOC emissions
House of Noa:
⭐️ Their products undergo third-party testing to meet safety standards such as ASTM F963, CPSIA, and EN 71, ensuring they are free from harmful substances like lead, phthalates, formaldehyde, and latex.
⭐️ Each product features unique, artist-created patterns inspired by global textiles, blending aesthetics with functionality
Designed in NY, ( While some of their mats are labeled as "Made in the USA," the company does not specify manufacturing processes or facilities)
